Ella's Way is proud to spotlight Piper's Key, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity that gifts inclusive books to children with disabilities that represent their unique selves in a positive light.Piper's Key was formed in memory of Piper Grace Hoefler, who passed away after 27 days on Earth due to the effects of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 0 (the rarest form of SMA). Had Piper survived her rare disease, she would be living with multiple disabilities and would need opportunities to grow a positive self-concept. The books that are gifted are written by individuals with disabilities, family members/parents of children with disabilities, or professionals working with children with disabilities. Piper's Key believes in providing the disability community with a voice for future generations!

For so many children with disabilities, the primary focus is on their actual diagnosis and treatment/management plan. Often times, these plans may not include positive self-image through representation, especially for lower income families. Piper's Key wants to ensure a more INCLUSIVE world for every child and believes that the most basic learning tool is a positive representation of children of all disabilities!
Though Piper's time on Earth was short, her strength has touched all those who learned her story.
