The More the Merrier is a multisensory children's picture book that teaches the importance of including others through  a joyful, music-filled adventure.

​The story follows a group of friends who welcome new characters by adding a new instrument each time - showing children that both friendships and experiences grow richer when everyone is invited. With five real percussion instruments embedded into the storyline, young readers can tap, shake, and play along as they read. 

​The book promotes early literacy, rhythm and social-emotional learning through hands-on engagement. Ultimately, it reminds children that when you make room for more friends, the world becomes merrier for everyone.

​Meridith Taylor Strout grew up in Virginia and earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Special Education from the University of Lynchburg. She later pursued her Ph.D. at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she specialized in the remediation and prevention of reading and language disabilities.

​Meridith has taught at both the elementary and collegiate levels and is passionate about early literacy and inclusive education. The More the Merrier is her debut children's book, inspired by her commitment to helping young learners feel seen, included, and engaged through multisensory experiences.

​She currently resides in St. Augustine, Florida, with her three children. When she's not writing or working with young readers, you can usually find her outdoors—most likely on the tennis courts enjoying her spare time.
